Ground Breaking for New Boise Elementary School
Ground broke on the new Whitney Elementary School on the Boise Bench today.
Boise School District officials, parents and students gathered today for the formal groundbreaking.
Boise School Board President Rory Jones spoke about the importance of the day.
“We thank all of you for your involvement in leading us to this groundbreaking today and the successful construction of this school over the course of the next year, and thank you all for sharing this moment with us and for your support of the Boise School District. It is indeed a significant occasion to stand before you on the site that will be the new Whitney Elementary School,” said Jones.
In March 2006, Boise voters supported a $94 million bond to renovate and rebuild a number of schools in the district.
Whitney Elementary is the eighth school construction project in the Boise School District since March 2007.
